The One Drawback.

Now with this chemo it’s different from the first chemo I did earlier in the year, the side effects aren’t as bad and it doesn’t kill my immune system like the other one did.  That means when it’s out of my system I get to go home and do regular things!!!!  But I do this chemo every two weeks, so after five days in the hospital after getting the chemo I really only have like a week and a half until I have to go back in.  So with the second round of chemo I decide to go to Banner Desert because it’s a lot closer to my house and will be easier for people to come visit.  This round goes smoothly, my dad flies in from New York so I’ll have some company during my stay.  There is only one drawback to having this treatment done at Banner Desert................no hot nurses.

The First Treatment.

So I was transfered to Good Sam hospital and spent a wonderful ten days there where I did a treatment of a different kind of chemo that was made to go into passed the blood/brain barrier and get the cancer up there.  That took four hours then 24 hours after that I started the rescue drug and that was every 6 hours and I was scheduled for 12 rounds of that.  I also got to have a 2 hour M.R.I. where I got to sit in a tube for 2 hours straight, and I also got to have a pet-scan which took about 3 hours, 45 minuets of that was the actual scan, the rest was spent drinking a horrible tasting liquid to get my body ready for the scan and then some more sitting around waiting to be taken back to my room.  But all of the nurses were super nice and I actually did something I’ve never done before......I hit on a nurse.  You know I figured if I can beat cancer twice why can’t I ask out the really cute nurse.  To bad she already had a boyfriend.

Here we go again.

So about the beginning of September I started getting really bad headaches, then throughout the next month and a half they got worse and worse.  So bad in fact that that I started throwing up.  It was fun.  So I contacted my doctor and talked to her and scheduled a scan of my head.  On that first scan we didn’t find anything but I was still getting worse and when my vision doubled and I couldn’t drive anymore she scheduled another scan.  This time they found something, so she had me go to the emergency room at Banner Desert and there they explained that there where two masses in my head, one about a centimeter on my temporal lobe and another larger one on my occipital lobe.  So that means my cancer came back............awesome.............shit.  Well here we go again.
